ICYMI: Clearview AI, a facial recognition app w/a 3B+ image database, gives law enforcement access to people's names, where they live, what they do, & whom they know (w/out their consent).
They're being sued multiple times but regulation is needed. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/18/technology/clearview-privacy-facial-recognition.html
@DuckDuckGo It's ironic that a search engine, whois giving everyone access to people's names, where they live and what they do, is complaining about Clearview. Allowing law enforcement to search by images is a bit different, though Google/yandex do have publicly available reverse image searches.
What Clearview is doing is somewhat different but it's also very similar.
